AINA IS - August Update

Kokua Foundation Logo.png

We have completed our first garden event for this school year! With the help of Pauline Jacroux and many of the kids from A+, we harvested Vermicast, which will be used to fertilize our garden beds at the Garden Party on Saturday, August 14, 9-11 AM. Come join in the fun to prepare our beds for planting. The whole family is encouraged to attend. Garden lessons will begin August 28 for grades K, 1 and 5. Keep an eye out for
sprouting plants!

Garden Club activities will begin in late August also. We will be making new Team shirts, constructing Scare Crows, conducting experiments using mulch, and planting LOTS of vegetables.

If you are interested in getting involved in Aikahi's garden activites, contact Wendy
Rosen 220-5691 (Garden Club and lessons), Jennifer Robinson 744-4031 (Healthy choice lunches), Pauline Jacroux 254-2550 (Worm lessons) or Lynn Isaacson 301-769-8327 (Nutrition lessons). The attached flyer also provides additional information on how to get involved.
