Registration Information

Registration Information
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

For those new to the Hawaii DOE public school system:

For those transferring from another Hawaii DOE public school:

  • Students transferring to Aikahi School from another public school in Hawaii must present a release card (Form 211) which is issued by the previous school. A report card or any other pertinent documents should be presented to facilitate registration and placement.
  • Proof of residence

For those transferring from Aikahi School to another school:

Parents are asked to complete a Request For Release form in the school office at least five business days in advance when a child is being transferred to another school. This will give the office staff sufficient time to secure necessary information and prepare a release card. The official release card will be given to the parent after school of the child's last day of attendance at Aikahi.

Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten

Registration for kindergarten or junior kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year will be held beginning February 1, 2012. We encourage you to register at this time. Children who will be five years old on or before August 1, 2012, may enroll in regular kindergarten, while children who reach five years of age between August 2 and December 31 may enroll in junior kindergarten. Junior kindergarten will provide the younger students with learning experiences that match their developmental abilities, and build a foundation for future school attitudes and success. Kindergarten is not mandatory in Hawaii. To enroll a child for the first time in Hawaii's public schools, parents need to present proof of their residential address, the child's birth certificate, and required health and immunization records. For more information on registration requirements, go to http://doe.k12.hi.us/register.
